At the Warhawk Marathon Club, running isn’t just about training plans, long runs, or race times. We believe the miles we put in can stand for something bigger.
As a club, we’re committed to giving back and using our platform as student-athletes to support causes that matter. Each semester, we choose a charitable organization to support through fundraising, awareness efforts, and race participation. It’s our way of connecting the discipline and dedication of marathon training with real impact in the community.
Training for a marathon takes grit, patience, and mental strength — qualities that mirror what so many people face in real life. Supporting meaningful causes gives our training a deeper purpose and reminds us why showing up for each other matters.
This semester, the Warhawk Marathon Club is proud to support Susan G. Komen, an organization dedicated to ending breast cancer and supporting those affected by it.
Susan G. Komen focuses on saving lives by funding research, providing education and screening resources, and offering direct support and financial assistance to individuals and families facing breast cancer. Their work impacts millions of people across the country and plays a major role in advancing awareness, treatment, and hope.
Breast cancer touches more lives than many of us realize — whether it’s a family member, friend, teammate, or someone in our community. By partnering with Susan G. Komen, our club wants to help raise awareness and contribute in a way that feels meaningful and action-oriented.
Throughout the semester, the club will take part in fundraising efforts, awareness initiatives, and events connected to our training and races. Every mile we run this season represents support, strength, and solidarity with those affected by breast cancer.
Marathon training teaches you a lot — how to stay consistent, how to push through tough moments, and how to support the people running next to you. Those lessons don’t stop at the finish line.
By getting involved in service and community partnerships, we’re reminded that our goals aren’t just individual. As a club, we want to represent UW–Whitewater not only as dedicated runners, but as students who care about making a positive impact beyond campus.

Along with training and racing, we’re using our platform to help raise awareness and funds for an organization that supports research, education, and direct assistance for individuals and families affected by breast cancer.
Every donation—big or small—helps fund critical research, provide access to care, and support those facing breast cancer in our communities. If you’re visiting our site and want to support what we’re training for this semester, donating is one of the most impactful ways to get involved.
All donations made through our club page go directly toward Susan G. Komen’s mission and help turn our miles into meaningful impact.
To support our Community & Service initiative, please donate through our official Warhawk Marathon Club fundraising page on the Susan G. Komen website.
Thank you for supporting our team, our training, and a cause that truly matters. Every mile we run this semester represents the generosity and support of people like you.
